We are so excited to be able to offer a match for all recipients of food assistance programs (SNAP, WIC, P-EBT, etc).

We are looking to make the Food Assistance Match available at our market for this and future seasons. For us to maximize our impact and create a sustainable program for the future, we will be matching $1 for every $1 spent, which will be subject to change as funds and opportunities allow.

If you utilized food assistance programs last year at the market, you will notice we are using the the the same receipt system we used then. If you have not previously taken part in our match, or if you would like further details, please see below for how it works.

If you have any questions, feel free to email marketmanager@bellevuemarket.org or ask a volunteer at the market. Thank you!

For SNAP or P-EBT Recipients

  1. The shopper stops by the Market Booth upon entering the market and checks the balance of their SNAP/P-EBT card.
  2. The shopper visits the vendors and chooses their purchases.
  3. The vendor bags those items and holds onto the bags.
  4. The vendor writes a receipt for the items and hands it to the shopper.
  5. The shopper continues to shop and collects receipts from each vendor.
  6. The shopper brings all of their receipts to the Market Booth.
  7. A volunteer will swipe the SNAP/P-EBT card to pay for all of the purchases. The card will be charged for one-half of the total cost of the foods. (If the customer wishes to purchase items such as jewelry, soap, or prepared meals, these will be charged separately at the full price at the individual vendor booths.)
  8. A volunteer will bring those receipts back to the vendors, picks up the purchases, and delivers them to the customer who is waiting at the market booth.

For WIC/FMNP Checks

  1. The shopper brings their checks to the market.
  2. The shopper goes to the appropriate vendors.
    1. Currently, Haffey Family Farm, Pond HIll Farm, and Sturges Orchard all accept the checks.
    2. If the customer wishes to purchase items at other vendors, these will be charged separately at the full price at the individual vendor booths.
  3. The shopper chooses their purchases and hands the checks to the vendor.
  4. The vendor writes a receipt for the items and hands it to the shopper.
  5. The shopper continues to shop and collects receipts from each vendor.
  6. The shopper brings all of their receipts to the Market Booth.
  7. A volunteer will record the purchase.
  8. A volunteer will bring those receipts back to the vendors, picks up the purchases, and delivers them to the customer who is waiting at the market booth.

We want to thank our donors to this program!
