Bellevue History

Brief Summary

In 2019, Bona Fide Bellevue, the local Community Development Corporation (CDC) for Bellevue,
received a matching grant from the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office to complete
a Borough-wide historic survey of properties 50 years and older within Bellevue Borough and
assess the resource’s eligibility for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.

Approximately 2,341 resources were surveyed and evaluated for National Register of Historic
Places Eligibility. A majority portion of Bellevue Borough is recommended eligible for listing
in the National Register of Historic Places as a streetcar suburb with significance between 1865
and 1950 with these dates marking the general period of growth and development of the
borough.
