Bona Fide Bellevue Programs & Initiatives

With a variety of events, programs, and initiatives, there’s something for everybody throughout the year!

Improve The Vue

The Improve the Vue program focuses on community involvement in neighborhood upkeep and improvement. From trash pickup to landscaping to trail maintenance, volunteers work on a periodic basis to improve the quality of Bellevue streets, parks, businesses, and homes. Find out about upcoming activities and how you can get involved in keeping Bellevue beautiful.

Bona Fide Bellevue Events

Good tunes and tasty brews at the Rhythm & Brews Festival, wine tasting and shopping at Bellevue UnWined, historical charm and architecture at the Live Worship Shop House Tour, and family fun (and spiked hot chocolate) at Light Up Bellevue! Bona Fide Bellevue is thrilled to provide fun events for Bellevue residents while also encouraging new visitors to experience Bellevue’s hospitality and dynamic small businesses.

Bellevue History and Historic Preservation

Bellevue is a borough flush with well over 1,000 turn of the century homes and buildings rich with character and charm. Learn more about our borough’s historical significance as a “Streetcar Suburb” and one of Pittsburgh’s first bedroom communities, and find out how our history is celebrated with commemorative home plaques and our bi-annual house tour event.

Bellevue’s Active Transportation Committee

Bona Fide Bellevue’s Active Transportation Committee promotes safe and accessible walking and biking through education, policy, and planning. In partnership with the Borough, the committee worked closely with Borough staff and community stakeholders to support the development of Bellevue in Motion, the Borough’s Active Transportation Plan, and continues to support its implementation through ongoing collaboration and monthly public meetings.

Main Street Committee

The Bona Fide Bellevue Main Street Committee is a community-led group formed to help shape the future of Lincoln Avenue and the surrounding business district. Guided by the nationally recognized Main Street Approach®, the committee will help identify priorities, gather community input, strengthen partnerships, and support long-term strategies that celebrate Bellevue’s character while creating new opportunities for growth and investment.

Farmers Market

The Bellevue Farmers Market started in 2017 under the direction of a group of residents. They realized a charming, walkable community like Bellevue, PA deserved to have a market that was as exciting and dynamic as the town itself.  Bellevue Farmers Market, a project of Bona Fide Bellevue, is a community nexus, bringing together food, families, and fun in a way that is accessible to all!

Volunteers weeding at the Community Garden

Bellevue Gardens

Since 2016 Bona Fide Bellevue has cultivated a public herb garden free to all to “pinch what you need, use what you pinch.” As our garden space continues to expand and we offer memberships in the Bellevue Friendship Garden, we’re always looking for those willing to lend a green thumb. Find out how we’re building community in Bellevue through sustainable gardening.

Scholarship Programs

Bona Fide Bellevue offers two scholarship programs to recognize and support graduating students whose unique perspectives, potential, or nontraditional paths deserve encouragement. These scholarships reflect our commitment to inclusion, personal growth, and the belief that every student has something valuable to contribute to the world.
