Today we get to know Kait Caviston, a relative newcomer to the 15202, but a great addition to our community!

I grew up in South Jersey and moved to Bellevue in 2019. I live here with my husband, Tim Braun, our son Michael, and our dog Murray. I’m a Research Coordinator for the University of Pittsburgh’s Concussion Research Lab.

I am really looking forward to the sense of community that comes with the Market. I think it’s something we’ve all missed. Also, the fresh apple cider from Sorgels and the dahlias from Pond Hill. My favorite thing to make with market ingredients is garlicky green beans. Here’s how you do it: Get yourself some fresh green beans from Pond Hill. Then get the Garlic Rub from Uncle Jammy’s. Saute the beans in some butter and sprinkle the garlic rub on them liberally. It’s a match made in heaven.

I am lucky enough to be a good cook and to be friends with the members of the market board. When we started the Feeding Neighbors Program, Mallory Ciuksza called and asked if I wanted to be a part of it. I was only too eager to join them to help some folks who were suffering from food insecurity.

We’ve worked really hard to create an amazing market for you all this year. I hope you enjoy it.
